The Orioles have announced that Scott Coolbaugh, who spent the last eight seasons in the Rangers organization, will fill their vacancy as their Major League hitting coach.
While Coolbaugh was the Rangers' hitting coach in 2012, they led the Majors in runs scored (808) and were second in the American League in batting average (.272).

He spent last season serving as the Rangers' Minor League hitting coordinator.
Jim Presley served as the Orioles' hitting coach last season, but was reassigned to a different role in the organization earlier this offseason.
Coolbaugh has been a hitting coach for various Minor League teams and prior to that was a manager in the D-backs' system.
