Former big-league catcher Humberto Quintero is presently plying his trade for Triple-A Pawtucket. On Friday night against Triple-A Durham, Quintero perpetrated a throw from behind the plate that may correctly be described as "the quintessence of lousy-crappy." Please bear chagrined witness ...
Hmm. That seems contrary to industry-wide best practices, and that also seems very much at the expense of the hitter, Luke Maile. I see two possibilities here: one, Quintero was seized by momentary yet thoroughgoing incompetence, or, two, he did this with malice aforethought. While I'll refrain from speculating on which is correct, D-Rays Bay points out that Quintero was involved in some bench-clearing chippiness later in the game.
Whatever the case, Quintero should endeavor to do better next time.
