The Mets on Saturday acquired right-handed reliever Addison Reed from the Diamondbacks after he cleared waivers, CBS Sports MLB insider Jon Heyman has confirmed. The deal is pending a physical.
Reed is still just 26, and in 2013 he notched 40 saves for the White Sox. However, he's otherwise not been very impressive.

Across 236 career games, all relief appearances, he's pitched to an ERA of 4.20 ERA (97 ERA+) with a K/BB ratio of 3.39 and an FIP of 3.45. This season, Reed has an ERA of 4.20 and a K/BB ratio of 2.43.
He's owed the balance of a $4.875-million salary for this season and will be second-year arbitration-eligible this winter. Reed opened the 2015 season as Arizona's closer, but he lost the job in May.
