For the first time since 2010, major league baseball will return to Puerto Rico.
The Pittsburgh Pirates and Miami Marlins are scheduled to play in a two-game series on May 30-31 at Hiram Bithorn Stadium, commissioner Rob Manfred announced on Thursday.
The two games will be counted as Marlins home games.
 
Pirates, Marlins to play in Puerto Rico for Roberto Clemente Day
 
The presence of the Pirates in Puerto Rico is significant. In honor of Pirates legend and Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente, the observance of Roberto Clemente Day will be held on May 31st in conjunction with the game.
The celebration will mark the 15th annual Roberto Clemente Day.
The Marlins and Mets last played in Puerto Rico in 2010.
