Myspace co-founder offers to pay for Giants to re-sign Tim Lincecum

In his nine seasons with the San Francisco Giants, Tim Lincecum amassed many ardent fans – who now don't want to see him leave the Bay Area.
For the first time in his career, Lincecum has become a free agent, presenting the likely option that he won't be wearing orange and black in 2016.
That possibility makes San Francisco fans squeamish, and one Giants fan is trying to intervene to make sure he doesn't have to witness "The Freak" play for any other team than the one he's played for his entire career.
On Tuesday, Myspace co-founder Tom Anderson sent a tweet to the Giants proposing that he would foot the bill for them to re-sign Lincecum.
 While Lincecum won two Cy Young Awards and three World Series titles with the Giants, his time in San Francisco has likely come to an end.
 After signing Johnny Cueto and Jeff Samardzija this offseason, the Giants have filled out their starting rotation, which suggests that the only possibility for Lincecum to return to the Giants would be in a relief role.
Given that Lincecum has attracted attention from around the league (notably from the San Diego Padres and Miami Marlins), he will likely land a starting job with an interested team.
 However, his landing spot for the coming season will rely upon an upcoming showcase Lincecum is planning for potential suitors.
 Although the circumstances aren't necessarily aligned for the Giants to continue their run with Lincecum, San Francisco has been keeping tabs on him during the offseason.
 "Timmy has been such a big part of our fabric and success," general manager Bobby Evans said, via the San Francisco Chronicle. "It's important we do our due diligence. Of course we're going to keep in touch with Tim Lincecum."
