The Blue Jays on Saturday announced that they've signed veteran right-hander Gavin Floyd to a one-year contract that will pay him $1 million for 2016 with the opportunity for additional incentives.
Floyd, 33, has worked a total of just 92 innings over the last three seasons because of elbow problems, including Tommy John surgery.

However, he's been highly effective on a rate basis over the last two seasons. For his career, Floyd has pitched to a 4.38 ERA (101 ERA+) and 2.35 K/BB ratio across parts of 12 big-league seasons.
In Toronto, Floyd figures to provide rotation depth while primarily working out of the bullpen as a long man/swing man.
