Not much has gone wrong this season for the AL Central-leading Chicago White Sox, but they addressed once deficiency Tuesday by designating left-hander John Danks for assignment.
In doing so, the White Sox will eat the remainder of his $15,750,000 salary for this season.

White Sox cut ties with John Danks but still owe him $15M

In four starts this season, the 31-year-old Danks is 0-4 with a 7.25 ERA and a 1.75 WHIP.
Danks has spent all 10 seasons of his major-league career with the White Sox. He had his best years from 2008-2010 when he went 40-31 with a 3.61 ERA. Since the start of the 2011 season, however, he is 33-60 with a 4.79 ERA. It's possible his struggles can be traced back to shoulder surgery in 2012.
