Right-hander Kris Medlen is returning to the Braves on a Minor League deal, sources confirmed to MLB.com's Mark Bowman. The club has not commented on the deal.
Medlen's deal does not include an invite to spring camp, according to a report by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The 31-year-old went 1-3 with a 7.77 ERA over six starts for the Royals last year before missing the rest of the season with a right shoulder injury.
Medlen's last full season in the Majors came in 2013 with Atlanta, when he compiled a 15-12 record and a 3.11 ERA over 32 games (31 starts). The year prior, Medlen memorably set a new Braves franchise record with 34 consecutive scoreless innings while going 10-1 with a 1.57 ERA.
After missing the entire 2014 season and also missing significant time in '15 and '16, Medlen faces a long road to regaining his previous dominant form.
