The Red Sox have agreed to a Minor League deal with veteran outfielder Carlos Quentin, MLB Network Insider Jon Heyman reported Wednesday. The club has not confirmed the report.
According to Heyman, Quentin will earn $750,000 in 2017 if he cracks the Major League roster.

Quentin has not appeared in a Major League game since 2014 while with the Padres. The 34-year-old hit .177 with four home runs and 18 RBIs in 50 games for San Diego that season.
Quentin was selected to the American League All-Star team with the White Sox in 2008 when he hit .288 with 36 homers and 100 RBIs. He was also named an All-Star in 2011, his final season with the White Sox.
