NEW YORK -- The Mets on Sunday suspended starting pitcher Matt Harvey three days without pay for violating club rules. The team scratched Harvey from his start, recalling left-hander Adam Wilk from Triple-A Las Vegas to take his place.The Mets declined to reveal the impetus behind Harvey's suspension, saying only that the club had been bracing for it since at least Saturday. 
"We'll keep it in-house, the way it's supposed to be," manager Terry Collins said.Harvey, 28, has struggled in his first season back from thoracic surgery, giving up six runs in each of his last two starts to increase his ERA to 5.14. Harvey's suspension technically began Saturday, according to the team, meaning Harvey could pitch as soon as Tuesday against the Giants. But the Mets have not announced any further changes to their rotation, or when they might insert Harvey back into it.Wilk, 29, last pitched in the Majors with the Angels in 2015. He has made three career big league starts and six relief appearances, posting a 6.49 ERA. At Las Vegas this season, Wilk was 2-3 with a 5.91 ERA in six starts.General manager Sandy Alderson announced Harvey's suspension on Sunday morning, reading a brief statement without taking questions.
