The D-backs have acquired Tigers outfielder J.D. Martinez, the teams announced Tuesday. Arizona sent prospects Dawel Lugo, Sergio Alcantara and Jose King to Detroit.
Martinez, one of the top bats on the market in advance of the July 31 non-waiver Trade Deadline, was hitting .305 with 16 home runs and 39 RBIs for Detroit this season.

The 29-year-old was an All-Star in 2015.
Lugo, a 22-year-old third baseman and shortstop, was ranked the D-backs' No. 4 prospect by MLBPipeline.com. Alcantara, the D-backs' No. 15 prospect, is a 21-year-old shortstop, and King is an 18-year-old shortstop.
