MONTERREY, Mexico -- The wave of bad news has hit the biggest Dodger of them all, as ace Clayton Kershaw went on the 10-day disabled list on Sunday with biceps tendinitis. Brock Stewart was recalled from Oklahoma City to replace him.
But nobody is equipped to replace Kershaw, the three-time National League Cy Young Award winner and former MVP who, in his opt-out season, has run his streak of consecutive years on the disabled list to three.
Instead of the back injuries that sidelined him the past two years, this time it's his arm.

The injury helps explain why Kershaw did not pitch on regular rest in the Mexico Series against the Padres, and also the late scratch of Rich Hill from Sunday's start.
Instead, Hill said he will be activated to start in Tuesday night's homestand opener against the D-backs.
Kershaw joins a list of injured Dodgers stars. Currently on the DL are third baseman Justin Turner, shortstop Corey Seager -- who is out for the season -- right fielder Yasiel Puig, second baseman Logan Forsythe, starting pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu and reliever Tom Koehler.
