NEW YORK -- Jonathan Schoop stood at his locker inside the Orioles' clubhouse at Yankee Stadium minutes before Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET non-waiver Trade Deadline unsure if he should get dressed or not. But not long after, he was giving hugs after he learned he was headed to Milwaukee as the centerpiece of a last-minute, four-player swap.
"We are excited to add another talented infielder to our position player group," said Brewers general manager David Stearns. "Jonathan has proven to be one of the most dynamic infielders in the game, and we are happy to have him."

In exchange for Schoop, Milwaukee parted with second baseman Jonathan Villar and two prospects: right-hander Luis Ortiz and infielder Jean Carmona.
The 22-year-old Ortiz was the Brewers' seventh-ranked prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and the 18-year-old Carmona was ranked No. 14.
The Schoop trade ends a 10-year tenure in the Orioles organization for the second baseman, who was an All-Star in 2017.
Schoop joins a Brewers team that entered Tuesday just one game behind the Cubs in the National League Central and has been looking for second-base help all year.
Milwaukee second basemen entered play on Tuesday with a combined .658 OPS, the sixth-worst mark in the Majors. Schoop's numbers are down from his career year in 2017; he's hitting .244/.273/.447 with 17 home runs and 40 RBIs in 85 games. He's a career .261/.296/.450 hitter over six Major League seasons.
Villar is currently on the disabled list with a right thumb sprain.
