The Yankees officially acquired left-handed pitcher James Paxton from the Mariners on Monday night for three prospects, including lefty Justus Sheffield, ranked by MLB Pipeline as New York's top prospect and the No. 31 prospect in the game.
Also headed to Seattle are Double-A outfield prospect Dom Thompson-Williams and righty pitcher Erik Swanson, ranked as the No. 22 prospect in New York's farm system.
Paxton, who is eligible for arbitration for two more seasons, is projected by MLB Trade Rumors to earn $9 million in 2019.
