Kansas City Royals pitcher Jeremy Guthrie apologized for the shirt he wore in the press conference following the Royals' win over the Baltimore Orioles in Game 3 of the American League Championship Series.
Guthrie wore a custom-made shirt that said “These O’s Ain’t Royal.”
“My intention was not to anger O's fans or friends w/my shirt 2night. I apologize to those offended. Did not consider this reaction. Go Royals,” Guthrie said on Twitter after the game.
Guthrie got the start in Game 3 and pitched five innings, allowing three hits and one earned run in the 2-1 victory, getting the no-decision. The Orioles are up 3-0 in the best-of-seven series. Game 4 is Wednesday. SI.com
