A fair trade: Travis Ishikawa has the home run ball he hit Thursday night to send the San Francisco Giants to the World Series, and the fan that gave it to him will get to see his favorite team face the Kansas City Royals in Game 3 of the Fall Classic at At&T Park.
But Frank Burke, the fan who wound up with Ishikawa's blast, would have given it back for nothing.
"Ishikawa is the guy who hit the ball," Burke told the Mercury News Friday. "I'm just the lucky guy who caught it.
"Knowing Travis and his history and what it's taken for him to get here? I wanted him to have the ball."
Instead, Ishikawa gave Burke a signed bat.
Burke had asked for a few tickets to the World Series, but backed off the request after being told that the team wasn't sure it could make that happen. But they made good on that request, too.
In all, it sounded like Burke had a pretty good night at the ballpark.
"Everybody wanted to take pictures of me with the ball, with themselves, selfies -- whatever you want to call it," he told the paper. "They wanted to touch the ball. So I spent about 15-20 minutes doing that with everybody who was around me the whole game. It was a great crowd of people." Evan Hilbert/CBSSports.com
