The Braves and Cardinals made a four-player trade on Monday that sent outfielder Jason Heyward and late-inning reliever Jordan Walden to St. Louis in exchange for pitchers Shelby Miller and Tyrell Jenkins.
Heyward, the Braves' first-round Draft pick in 2007, is a two-time Gold Glove winner with a .262 career batting average to go along with 84 home runs and 292 RBIs since his 2010 debut.

Miller, 24, is also a former first-round pick and had been a key facet of the Cardinals pitching staff. He's gone 26-18 with a 3.33 ERA in 69 career Major League outings (63 starts) and 370 innings pitched.
Walden, who has appeared in 50 or more games in three of the past four seasons, led the Braves with 20 holds in 2014. He also led the Angels in saves with 32 and was named an All-Star in 2011.
Jenkins, 22, went 6-5 with a 3.28 ERA in 13 starts for Class A Palm Beach this year. He was selected by the Cardinals in the supplemental round (50th overall) of the 2010 First-Year Player Draft.
