SAN DIEGO - The Los Angeles Dodgers found their shortstop Wednesday when they acquired Philadelphia Phillies veteran Jimmy Rollins, an official with direct knowledge of the trade told USA TODAY Sports.
The official spoke only on the condition of anonymity because the trade was not yet announced.
Rollins, who had spent his entire 15-year career with the Phillies, waived his no-trade clause to accept the deal.
The Phillies are expected to receive prospects in return.

Rollins, 36, is owed $11 million this year in the final year of his contract.
He was the 2007 National League MVP for Philadelphia and the shortstop for their 2008 World Series champions. In Los Angeles, he will serve as a stopgap between Hanley Ramirez - who departed to Boston as a free agent - and top prospect Corey Seager.
Rollins, 36, batted .243 last season with 17 homers and 55 RBI, and had a .323 on-base percentage and .394 slugging percentage.
