Angels trade Howie Kendrick to Dodgers

The Dodgers acquired Heaney earlier on Wednesday in a six player deal with Miami. Once that trade was processed, the team dealt the 23-year-old pitcher to the Angels for Kendrick. Kendrick, 31, hit .293/.347/.397 over 617 at-bats last year. Kendrick is owed just under $10 million, and is entering the final year of his contract.
Heaney appeared in seven games for the Marlins last year, including five starts. He posted a 5.83 ERA over 29 1/3 innings. He was considered a top-20 prospect entering last season, according to MLB.com.
