The Marlins bolstered their rotation as the Reds continued to disassemble theirs, with Miami acquiring right-hander Mat Latos.
Miami announced Thursday that it landed Latos for 24-year-old right-hander Anthony DeSclafani -- who was ranked as Miami's No. 2 prospect by MLB.com after the club traded Andrew Heaney to the Dodgers on Wednesday night -- and Minor League catcher Chad Wallach, son of Dodgers bench coach Tim Wallach.

Reds trade Mat Latos to Marlins

After dealing away starter Alfredo Simon to the Tigers, Reds general manager Walt Jocketty declined comment Thursday when asked about a trade involving Latos.
Latos went 5-5 with a 3.25 ERA in 16 starts this past season. In his career, the right-hander from Coconut Creek, Fla., is 60-45 with a 3.34 ERA for the Padres and Reds.
DeSclafani made his Major League debut in 2014, going 2-2 with a 6.27 ERA in 13 appearances, including five starts, for the Marlins. Primarily a starter in the Minors, the right-hander went 26-16 with a 3.23 ERA and 304 strikeouts in 354 1/3 innings.
Wallach, 23, hit .322/.431/.457 with seven homers and 57 RBIs in 97 games between Class A Greensboro and Class A Advanced Jupiter this past season. He was a fifth-round Draft pick by the Marlins in 2013.
