Brewers To Host ‘Major League’ Night in July

From the department of "How has this not already happened?" comes Tuesday's news of the Milwaukee Brewers planning Major League Night at Miller Park this season. That's right — buried within the announcement of promotion nights including "Zubazpalooza," Star Wars Night and Country Night is a giveaway that should make baseball fans swoon.
Major League Night will be July 21, when Milwaukee hosts the Cleveland Indians -- as you might remember, they're the stars of the classic 1989 movie. The Brewers will give away bobblehead dolls of Harry Doyle, the broadcaster from the film portrayed by Milwaukee's own play-by-play announcer, the legendary Bob Uecker.
Much of Major League was also filmed at the since-demolished Milwaukee County Stadium, so the Brewers surely have the clout to pull off a theme night tied to one of the most beloved sports flicks of all time.
The bobbleheads will be of the talking variety, and they'll come equipped with some of Doyle's great quotes from the movie, including: "This guy threw at his own kid in a father-son game!" "Personally, I think we got hosed on that call!" and "Juuust a bit outside."
Take note, though: the special theme night ticket page is required in order to have a chance at getting a bobblehead. Also, only the first 4,000 fans in attendance will get one. Same goes for the "Jedi Luc" bobblehead promotion on May 30, when, you guessed it, Jonathan Lucroy will be commemorated in Jedi form.
