Rays right-hander Chris Archer is not only having an excellent season, but, if recent appearances are any guide, he's also highly skilled at defending himself from an unsolicited "air kiss." Please witness this action-news footage via Reddit user Whaines from Friday night's game in Seattle ...
This is a textbook defensive maneuver. First he shields himself with a subtle shoulder roll, then he catches the incoming encroachment, and finally he heaves it safely into foul territory. Also note that Mr. Archer used his non-throwing arm to send that stupid kiss straight to garbage-town.
Clutch performance, that.
