SAN FRANCISCO -- Rubby De La Rosa pitched eight-plus shutout innings, Chris Owings smacked a two-run double in the sixth and the Arizona Diamondbacks completed a sweep of the San Francisco Giants with a 4-0 victory Sunday afternoon.
De La Rosa, who had given up 16 runs combined in his previous two starts in June, allowed eight hits and two walks while striking out six and working his way through a depleted Giants lineup with ease. He departed after allowing two hits to lead off the ninth, and Daniel Hudson got Buster Posey to hit into a game-ending double play with the bases loaded for his first Major League save.

De La Rosa leads D-backs to sweep of Giants

The outcome marked the D-backs' sixth win in seven games against the Giants and secured their first three-game sweep at AT&T Park since July 25-27, 2008. The D-backs also handed the Giants their eighth straight home loss, the longest such streak since Sept. 7-15, 1993.
Giants pitcher Chris Heston followed up his no-hitter with five innings of three-run ball, giving up seven hits and four walks. One of the runs was unearned.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED Owings busts out: Owings was 0-for-13 to start this road trip, but his first hit wound up being a big one as he lined a double over the head of Justin Maxwell that scored a pair of runs to expand the D-backs' lead to 3-0.
Miscues prove costly: The D-backs scored two of their four runs thanks to three Giants errors. In the second inning with a runner on second base, Welington Castillo hit a chopper straight to shortstop Brandon Crawford. Crawford bobbled the ball and tried to make up for it, but threw too low for first baseman Brandon Belt, allowing Jake Lamb to score. In the sixth inning, Ender Inciarte drove a ball out to shallow center field that bounced off Maxwell's glove. Inciarte stole third base and came in to score on a sacrifice fly by A.J. Pollock.
