The Blue Jays are still adding pieces. The club has acquired outfielder Ben Revere from the Phillies, according to multiple reports. The rest of the trade details are unknown at this point.
Within the last few days the Blue Jays have acquired Troy Tulowitzki, David Price, Mark Lowe and now Revere. They are only six games back in the AL East and two games back of a wild-card spot. They are clearly looking to get back to the postseason for the first time since 1993.

Blue Jays acquire outfielder Ben Revere from Phillies

Revere, 27, is hitting a solid .298/.334/.374 (98 OPS+) with 24 stolen bases in 29 attempts this year. He figures to step in as Toronto's everyday left fielder. Danny Valencia, Ezequiel Carrera and Chris Colabello have been sharing time in left recently.
There is still another $1.6 million or so left on Revere's contract this season. He will remain under team control as an arbitration-eligible player in 2016 and 2017, so he's not a rental. That said, his salaries will be quite high because stolen bases pay.
Revere was one of the final marketable pieces the Phillies had to offer at the trade deadline. They sent Cole Hamels and Jake Diekman to the Rangers in a blockbuster earlier this week.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
1. Revere is a contact machine.
Revere's game is quite simple: he puts the ball in play and runs like crazy. He has basically no power and he knows it. His game is built on his legs. Revere also excels at making contact:

He's a classic pest.
2. Revere is a leadoff man who will probably bat ninth.
The Blue Jays have by far the best offense in baseball this season. They've scored 58 more runs than any other team, and Tulowitzki has only been around for a handful of games. Revere is a solid leadoff hitter -- not great, but solid, able to help in that role -- but it's hard to see the Jays giving him more at-bats than Tulowitzki, Josh Donaldson and Jose Bautista. Expect to see Revere batting ninth and serving as a "second" leadoff hitter for the big bats.
3. The Phillies are out of trade chips.
Unless they do something unexpected like trade Ken Giles, the Phillies have already moved their most marketable players in Revere and Hamels. Aaron Harang could be dealt before the deadline, though he won't net a huge return. The "gutting the roster" part of the rebuild is complete.
