WASHINGTON -AP- Domingo Santana homered in his Milwaukee debut and the the Brewers took advantage of several defensive miscues in a 10-3 victory over the struggling Washington Nationals on Friday night.
Jonathan Lucroy had three hits and drove in a run, and rookie Jimmy Nelson allowed two runs in 5 1/3 innings against Washington, which fell one game below .500 (60-61)
Bryce Harper hit his 31st home run and Michael Taylor also homered for the Nationals, who entered Friday four games behind the NL East-leading New York Mets.

Gio Gonzalez (9-6) allowed five runs -- four earned -- over five innings, and the Brewers added a five-run seventh Washington lost the opener of a nine-game homestand following a 3-7 West Coast trip.
Kyle Lohse picked up his first save.
Milwaukee, long out of postseason contention, has won five of its last seven.
Nelson allowed five hits, struck out four and walked two to move to 4-0 in his last seven outings.
Santiago, called up from Triple-A Colorado Springs before the game, hit Gonzalez's full-count fastball just over the fence in left to cap a three-run fifth inning that began when Lucroy's line drive single smashed into Gonzalez's ankle.
Gonzalez remained in the game after a visit from the dugout. Two batters later, Adam Lind doubled Lucroy to third before Khris Davis hit a sac fly. Then Santana, acquired from Houston in July, connected on the ninth pitch of his at-bat to make it 5-1.
The Brewers took a 2-1 lead in the third when Jayson Werth misread Lucroy's line drive that sailed over his head for a double. Lucroy took third on a passed ball and scored on Ryan Braun's sacrifice fly, just ahead of Harper's throw from right.
After Harper's homer made it 5-2, Milwaukee scored five more off Nationals relievers Doug Fister and Tanner Roark, the last coming home from second on Harper's wild throw following Jean Segura's sacrifice fly.
