Back in August, the sale of a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle PSA 8 baseball card made headlines when it sold at auction for a whopping $382,400…a record of sorts for the iconic 2½ inch by 3½ inch piece of cardboard.
Until now.
Sunday, another Mantle Topps rookie card (also graded PSA 8) broke the bank after selling on eBay for, get this, $486,100 plus $250 shipping.
Mickey Mantle rookie card sold for $486,100No word yet as to whether or not the winning bid was legit (you never can tell with eBay), but to put this whole sale into perspective, should be 2015 National League Rookie of the Year Kris Bryant was paid $471,448 by the Chicago Cubs.
