The Angels on Tuesday announced that they signed veteran infielder Cliff Pennington to a two-year contract. Per Jerry Crasnick, the deal will pay Pennington a total of $3.75 million plus the opportunity for additional incentives. 
The switch-hitting Pennington, 31, has a career slash line of .245/.313/.344 (81 OPS+) with 80 stolen bases in 794 games. He's regarded as a defensive asset while also having the ability to man four different positions, including shortstop, where he has logged the majority of his defensive innings.
