John Smoltz will serve as the lead analyst on FOX Sports' Major League Baseball broadcasts during the 2016 regular season and postseason.
The first-ballot Hall of Famer — he was enshrined in Cooperstown this past July — will team with play-by-play man Joe Buck in the booth. Smoltz initially joined FOX Sports in 2014 and served as an analyst for both regular and postseason telecasts in 2014 and 2015.
"I am extremely excited to be able to continue my broadcasting career with FOX Sports, and I am honored to be named lead analyst alongside Joe Buck," Smoltz said. 
"Joe is a good friend of mine and the best in the business. He's someone I have known and respected for a long time, and I am really looking forward to getting to work with him on a more regular basis. This is a tremendous opportunity, and I couldn't be happier."
During his 21-season major-league career, Smoltz went 213-155 with a 3.33 ERA, 3,084 strikeouts and 154 saves. He is an eight-time All-Star, the 1996 NL Cy Young Award winner and a member of the 1995 World Series champion Atlanta Braves.
