The Angels have acquired infielder Danny Espinosa from the Nationals in exchange for Minor League pitchers Kyle McGowin and Austin Adams, the Halos announced Saturday night.
Espinosa, who turns 30 in April, hit .209/.306/.378 with career highs in home runs (24) and RBIs (72) for Washington in 2016.

Moving Espinosa became more likely for the Nationals after the acquisition of center fielder Adam Eaton from the White Sox, which enables Trea Turner to move to shortstop.
According to the Washington Post, Espinosa was unhappy with his apparent relegation to a bench role following the Eaton deal, and did not appear at the club's annual Winterfest on Saturday.
