GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- The D-backs have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with free-agent outfielder Adam Jones pending a physical, a source told MLB.com Sunday.That club has not confirmed the agreement, which ESPN.com reports is for $3 million.“I’m hearing about it the same way everybody else is,” D-backs manager Torey Lovullo said from Mexico. “It’s all kind of hearsay back and forth. I really don’t have anything I can add in other than what I’m reading, which is the same as you. Right now, at this point, I really can’t make a comment one way or another.” 
Jones, 33, had a slash line of .281/.313/.419 in 145 games for the Orioles last season. After being drafted by the Mariners in 2003, Jones spent his first two big league seasons in Seattle before being dealt to the Orioles prior to the 2008 season.Over his 13-year big league career, Jones has been selected to five All-Star Games and hit .278/.318/.456.With the D-backs, Jones figures to see time at all three outfield positions. Arizona lost center fielder A.J. Pollock to free agency and is transitioning infielder Ketel Marte to center.Backup center fielder Jarrod Dyson suffered a strained oblique at the beginning of camp, limiting the D-backs' depth in the outfield.David Peralta is slated to start in left, Marte in center and Steven Souza Jr. in right, but there could be plenty of at-bats to go around as the team still plans on using Marte some at second and shortstop.
