DETROIT -- There was a weather delay at the start and in the middle, but the Tigers eventually took care of the Orioles with a 10-4 win on Friday at Comerica Park, thanks in part to Miguel Cabrera's 4-for-5 day, which included his 2,000th career hit -- a two-run homer.
After fog and rain throughout the morning, first pitch was pushed back 10 minutes. Once the game did start, the Orioles opened the scoring quickly. Chris Davis hit an 0-2 changeup to right field to drive in David Lough and Adam Jones in the opening frame.

But the Tigers answered in the next inning. Austin Jackson led off with a double, followed by a walk to Alex Avila. Nick Castellanos doubled to right field, recording his first Major League RBIs and his first extra-base hit.
After Rajai Davis was hit by a pitch, Ian Kinsler singled another run home to give the Tigers the lead.
In the bottom of the fourth, Castellanos and Andrew Romine reached to start the frame with heavy rain coming down. After one pitch to Davis, the game was delayed, which lasted 34 minutes.
When play resumed, Davis hit a three-run homer to left field to push the Tigers' lead to 6-2. It was his first home run as a Tiger. Two batters later, Torii Hunter hit another ball over the left-field wall to make it 7-2 for the home team.
Drew Smyly was skipped in the rotation after Thursday's rainout, but he came on in relief of starter Anibal Sanchez after Friday's delay and threw three scoreless innings to earn the win.
Manager Brad Ausmus lost his first challenge of the year in the fifth inning. After Romine bobbled a double-play toss from Kinsler, Baltimore's Steve Lombardozzi was ruled safe at second. Ausmus challenged that Romine lost the ball in the exchange from his glove to his hand after tagging the base, but the initial call was confirmed.
