MILWAUKEE -- Chase Headley hit a home run to start the 12th inning Tuesday, leading the Padres to a 2-1 victory over the Brewers before a crowd of 25,815 at Miller Park.
For Headley, it was his second home run of 2014. This one came off Brewers reliever Alfredo Figaro (0-1).
Donn Roach got his first Major League victory with two scoreless innings of relief.
To be sure, there weren't a whole lot of productive swings in this one.
Milwaukee pitcher Yovani Gallardo allowed one run on five hits in seven innings. He walked two and had four strikeouts and got 13 groundball outs.

San Diego pitcher Ian Kennedy needed 73 pitches to get nine outs but was efficient thereafter, allowing one run on four hits with three walks and five strikeouts in six innings.
The Padres (10-11) scored first as Yonder Alonso doubled to start the fifth inning and advanced to third base on an infield single by Chris Denorfia.
Kennedy then laid down a bunt that allowed Alonso to score as Gallardo mishandled the ball. Despite having runners on first and second and no outs at that point, the Padres couldn't add to their total.
The Brewers (15-6) tied the game in the bottom of the inning when Scooter Gennett connected for his first home run of the season, a line drive into the visiting bullpen.
The Padres had runners on first and second with one out in the sixth inning but Gallardo got a double-play ball off the bat of Jedd Gyorko to end the inning.
Denorfia had three hits, raising his average to .333.
