Every Wednesday morning, Nationals manager Matt Williams calls into 106.7 the Fan, a popular Washington, D.C. sports radio station.
But this week, he had a bit of an incident while talking to the Sports Junkies:
Williams was talking about Ian Desmond when all of a sudden he stopped and calmly said: “Sorry guys, I just had an accident … I got a police officer behind me and this guy’s going to try to escape.” Really? “The guy’s running. He just ran right in the back of me,” Williams said, still incredibly calm. “I just got rear-ended by a guy in a car,” Williams said. “Hold on. This guy’s crashing into people.” “Are you okay?” the radio host asked. “I’m good,” Williams said. “There was a police car behind me, and a guy in a car and he tried to get by me and he just smoked me.” Williams said he was driving to the ballpark when the accident happened. “He tried to get out of his car, and then he got around me, and then they’re continuing to chase him,” Williams said.

Williams said he was fine, but his car, a Tahoe was not. “My rear end is gone now,” he said.
The radio hosts asked him if he would be suspended for being late to the ballpark.
“Yeah I guess they don’t care about me. That’s the strangest thing I’ve ever been a part of,” he added.
You can listen to the entire audio here (the incident starts around the 8:20 mark)
