MINNEAPOLIS (AP) Felix Hernandez pitched eight strong innings and Robinson Cano had four hits and the Seattle Mariners defeated the Minnesota Twins 6-2 on Sunday.
Hernandez (5-1) continued his recent domination of the Twins, giving up two runs and seven hits while striking out five and walking one.

In his past four starts against Minnesota, Hernandez has pitched 34 innings and allowed three earned runs with 30 strikeouts.
Seattle snapped a four-game losing streak and avoided being swept, while the Twins have won three straight series and six of nine overall.
The Twins took a 2-0 lead on Trevor Plouffe's two-out, two-run single in the third, but the Mariners wore out Twins starter Ricky Nolasco (2-4) over the next two innings, scoring three times and driving his pitch count to 100, which led to his leaving the game after the fifth inning.
