SAN DIEGO -- Tyson Ross delivered an All-Star-worthy performance and the Padres launched three solo home runs to stifle the Mets, 6-0, on Saturday and even the series.
Ross (8-10) now has a 19-inning scoreless streak at Petco Park, and has given up two runs or fewer in his last six starts.
Entering Saturday, the Padres had scored five runs for Ross over his last 54 innings. They equaled that on Saturday with homers from Yasmani Grandal, Will Venable and Seth Smith and a two-run single by Chase Headley.

Ross, Padres cool off Mets in 6-0 win

Ross' no-hit bid was broken up in the fifth when Travis d'Arnaud hit a chopper down the third-base line that hit the bag, denying Headley a chance to make a play. Ross didn't let that leadoff single bother him, though, and ended up erasing d'Arnaud with a 6-3 double play to end the frame.
Ross got in a bases-loaded jam two innings later but struck out Ruben Tejada with one of his trademark sliders to escape and end his outing with a bang. He allowed four hits and three walks, with six strikeouts.
In his second start since recovering from a strained lat, Mets starter Dillon Gee (4-2) struck out eight and walked none but lasted just five innings. He allowed five hits, including the homers to Grandal and Venable, and four runs, which tied his season high.
Smith added the Padres' third solo shot of the game in the sixth off Carlos Torres for his team-leading 11th homer.
