ANAHEIM -- The Angels came back in the bottom of the ninth inning to spoil Fernando Rodney's premature celebration and hand the Mariners a 6-5 loss on Sunday afternoon at Angel Stadium.
After the end of the eighth inning, Rodney shot his trademark arrow towards the Angels dugout -- but the Angels had the last laugh when Grant Green singled home Josh Hamilton with two outs in the ninth for the walk-off win.
Albert Pujols tied the game with a double down the right-field line that scored Mike Trout.

After the play, Pujols shot his own arrow towards the Angels dugout. After two intentional walks and a double play, Green stepped in with the bases loaded.
He took a Rodney pitch up the middle to give the Angels the series win, their franchise-record 10th straight at home.
The Angels (59-38) have now won seven of their last eight games overall while the Mariners (52-46) are 3-6 in their last nine.
Seattle scored three runs in the first and two in the seventh off Angels starter Tyler Skaggs. In the five innings between runs, Skaggs yielded just one hit and faced the minimum 15 batters. Kyle Seager hit a single but was erased at second trying to steal.
But the Mariners rallied in the seventh to take a two-run lead. An RBI double from Mike Zunino brought in James Jones, who pinch-ran and foiled a double play with a hit-and-run. Zunino came in on Endy Chavez's single to left.
The Mariners sent eight batters to the plate in the first as five consecutive registered a hit. Seager started the streak with a line-drive home run to right field and Corey Hart and Dustin Ackley capped it with RBI singles. Seattle was 3-for-4 with runners in scoring position in the inning.
The Angels trailed early but responded with a run in the first and two in the third to tie the game.
In the first, Kole Calhoun -- who singled -- scored on Hamilton's double down the right-field line. Calhoun initially paused rounding third base but accelerated once Stefen Romero fell close to the right-field fence.
Calhoun took care of himself two innings later, just getting enough of a Chris Young slider for a solo home run to lead off the frame. Trout followed with a blast to left-center, his 23rd home run of the season.
They added a run in the seventh on Howie Kendrick's two-out single up the middle, scoring Hamilton.
Seattle starter Young worked in and out of trouble for much of the afternoon, allowing three runs but stranding six Angels -- five in scoring position -- in his six innings.
