TORONTO -- They kept everyone guessing, but the Blue Jays managed to pull off an extra-innings victory with a walk-off single from Jose Reyes in the 10th on Saturday against the Rays at Rogers Centre.
Toronto blew the lead in the ninth, but the team still escaped with a 5-4 victory, creating the possibility for a series win on Sunday.
With the Rays' infield playing back, Colby Rasmus led off the inning with a bunt single to give the Blue Jays a runner.

Reyes lifts Blue Jays over Rays 5-4 in 10 innings

He stole second on a Munenori Kawasaki strikeout to put the winning run in scoring position with two away. Reyes then laced a Jeff Beliveau offering to left field, scoring Rasmus to seal the deal.
It initially looked like the Blue Jays would be able to get it done in nine innings, as they carried the lead into the Rays' would-be final at-bat with closer Casey Janssen in for the save opportunity.
A seventh-inning two-run shot from Dioner Navarro provided Toronto with a one-run edge, but Janssen couldn't finish the job, walking Wil Myers to lead off the inning before allowing back-to-back pinch-hit singles as the Rays tied the game at 4. If it weren't for a baserunning error by Kevin Kiermaier, who rounded third too hard on James Loney's RBI single and was thrown out as he retreated to the bag, the Rays could've taken the lead.
The game was being played under protest after Joe Maddon informed crew chief Bob Davidson that he disagreed with the allowance of a manager's challenge by John Gibbons in the fourth inning. Myers was ruled out on a pickoff play by Mark Buehrle following a near three-minute review of the original safe call.
Maddon's point of contention was around the time it took for Gibbons to issue the challenge, which resulted in the call on the field -- that Myers was safe at first base -- to be overturned. Maddon thought the window for the challenge should've been closed as Buehrle took the mound to face Yunel Escobar, but the umpires allowed the review anyway.
