CHICAGO -- With American League Cy Young candidate Corey Kluber starting for the Indians on Wednesday night at U.S. Cellular Field, White Sox hurler Hector Noesi didn't have much room for error.
And the right-hander really only made one mistake in Chicago's 3-2 victory, ending the club's seven-game losing streak and denying the Indians a prime chance to gain ground on the Mariners and Tigers for the second AL Wild Card. That mistake came in the top of the seventh, when Lonnie Chisenhall lofted a 3-2 pitch down the right-field line for the game-tying home run.

Noesi, Abreu lead White Sox past Indians 3-2

The score didn't stay deadlocked long.
Carlos Sanchez opened the White Sox seventh with a single against Kluber, and Adam Eaton followed with a line shot down the right-field line for a ground-rule double to put runners at second and third with nobody out. Alexei Ramirez's hard-hit grounder to Chisenhall at third was turned into an out at the plate, despite White Sox manager Robin Ventura asking for a crew-chief review to determine if catcher Roberto Perez blocked the plate without the ball.
That out call was confirmed, leaving runners at the corners with one out and Jose Abreu at the plate. Abreu doubled in the first off of Kluber, and with Eaton on third following a triple and one out in the third, the Indians elected to pitch to Abreu, who singled home the tying run.
Once again, the Indians elected to face Abreu, who singled home the go-ahead run. Abreu's three hits raised his average to .312 to go with his 96 RBIs, not to mention his 6-for-13 performance this season against Kluber.
Noesi allowed two runs on six hits over seven innings, striking out five and walking one. Javy Guerra pitched 1 2/3 innings, and Zach Putnam recorded the final out for the save.
Adam Dunn drove in the second run for the White Sox, following Abreu's third-inning single with a double to right-center.
