The Detroit Tigers reached an agreement to re-sign designated hitter Victor Martinez to a four-year, $68 million contract on Wednesday, sources told FOX Sports MLB Insider Jon Paul Morosi.The 35-year-old Martinez had a career year for the Tigers last season, hitting .335 with 32 home runs and 103 RBI. He also finished with an American League-leading .974 OPS and went to his fifth All-Star Game. 
Martinez missed the entire 2012 season with a knee injury but was able to play more than 150 games in each of the past two seasons. Since joining the Tigers in 2011, he has hit above .300 every year and has driven in more than 100 runs twice.Martinez will be 39 at the end of this new deal and has previously indicated he intends to retire at that age. Martinez will have some no-trade protection in the new deal, a source told Morosi.Fox Sports
