The A's are close to a one-year deal with right-hander Henderson Alvarez, according to multiple reports Friday.
CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman first reported that the sides were close, and Yahoo Sports' Jeff Passan reported that the deal "should be done soon" with terms for a one-year, $4 million contract plus incentives.

Alvarez, 25, has spent the past three seasons with the Marlins. Over his five-year career, which also includes two seasons with the Blue Jays, he is 27-34 with a 3.80 ERA.
After an All-Star campaign in 2014, Alvarez went 0-4 in 2015 with a 6.45 ERA in four games (all starts).
